Transportation Engineer

Salary Range: $75K to $90K (Based on Experience)

What you’ll be doing:

• Perform routine aspects of assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles.
• Projects may include in whole, or in part, roadway, roundabout, multi-use trails, ADA pedestrian facilities, traffic signals, hydrology and hydraulics, retaining walls, enclosed drainage systems, small and large box culverts, traffic barrier systems, and other roadside development features.
• Assist the Project Managers and Project Engineers in the development and design of projects.
• Ensure that transportation projects comply with state and federal regulations and consider the environmental and societal impacts.
• Prepare engineering studies, documents, and reports.Prepare engineering analysis to include preliminary design, final design, and calculations.
• Conduct surveys to gather field data.
• Prepare drawings, layouts, and other visual aids using computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs.
• Review the development of designs for compliance with applicable codes, adopted engineering standards, and good engineering practices.
• Collaborate with urban planners and government agencies to create strategies for improving traffic flow, reducing congestion, and enhancing safety.

What you need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
• 3 to 7 years of experience
• EI Certification or PE License (if eligible) required within one year of employment.
• Familiarity with Microstation and OpenRoads Designer
• Familiarity with AutoTurn and Hydraulic Analysis Software is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
• Must be dependable with the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team to meet deadlines and provide high quality work.
