    Job Description

    Join our dynamic team at Truck Centers, Inc. and play a key role in supporting our day-to-day operations with your accounting expertise.

    As an Accountant at TCI, you'll help us stay on top of our financial activities by preparing reports that track assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and more. We're looking for someone who can bring strong accounting knowledge and a commitment to following our company’s policies and procedures.

    This role is based on-site in Troy, IL, with the felxibility to work remotely about one day a week after you're fully trained.

    What You'll Be Doing:

    • Calculate truck sales transactions and commissions for our Sales team.
    • Assist the Accounts Payable team with GL coding.
    • Investigate and correct account discrepancies.
    • Help prepare monthly and annual financial statements.
    • Assist in the budget preparation and monthly variance analysis.
    • Serve as a liaison between various internal departments and external parties (auditors, vendors, etc.) to provide needed support.
    • Understand and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, gathering the necessary documentation.
    • Perform general accounting duties with accuracy and in a timely manner.

    Qualifications

    What We’re Looking For:

    Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
    • 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, with solid knowledge of accounting principles and computer-based systems.

    Skills & Qualifications:

    • Strong grasp of general accounting principles, attention to detail, and comfort with numbers.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (intermediate to advanced skills); experience with Dealer Management software is a bonus.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Organized and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • A true team player who can also work independently when needed.
    • Confident in working with vendors and external partners, representing TCI in a professional manner.
    • A mindset for continuous improvement and a commitment to making processes more efficient.
